DO IT! Volunteering in Zambia was one of the best experiences of my life. Thanks to CISaustralia, I had the opportunity to travel to remote villages in Zambia and provide healthcare to some of the poorest and most vulnerable people I have ever encountered. As a final year nursing student, the experience was invaluable. I met people with diseases that are not prevalent (or are under control) in Australia, such as HIV/AIDS, and learnt more about how these diseases are treated and how people cope. I met and worked alongside dedicated health professionals and my fellow Deakin students. We have formed lifelong friendships from our shared experiences.
